5 Resolutions To Improve Your Mental Health This Year
January 23, 2023
Brand New Year, brand new you.
Here are five things that you can do to improve your mental health.
1. Commit to you
You are that important. You are deserving of being able to take 30 minutes just to sit and be still and recharge your batteries. Read a book, go for a walk, do something that recharges your battery and provides rest and relaxation.
2. Reconnect with old friends
Give that friend that you haven’t talked to in a while a call or commit to being more consistent with those connections this year. Social connection is so important to your mental health. We are meant to be in community. We are all meant to be connected to other people.
3. Eat well
What you take in has a direct impact on how you think and how you feel. If you eat poorly, you’re going to feel bad, and that is going to have a negative impact on how you see yourself, how you think about yourself, and how you feel.
4. Get better sleep
Be sure to get plenty of sleep – eight hours a day. Make sure it is restful sleep and not just about the hours. Change your bed if you need to. Look at your bedtime routine as well. Change little things as needed to make sure you are getting the rest your body and mind need to be at your best during the day.
5. Get 20 to 30 minutes of exercise daily
Just get out there and be active. Go for a walk. Ride your bike. Do something. Try to get some time outdoors. Sunlight is good for you and it will help you feel better and think more clearly.
Happy New Year
